About Us

Changing the DNA of Heart Health.

What runs in your family should never be a mystery. We help individuals and families understand their risk through education, awareness, advocacy, and early detection.

Our Story

From survival to purpose.

Inherited Hearts Foundation was born from a life-changing moment that proved how vital family history, early detection, and patient advocacy truly are.

When founder Necole Coleman, a Medical Laboratory Scientist and active individual, experienced sudden, severe back pain while working out, she was initially misdiagnosed with a muscle strain. Four days later, persistent symptoms led to a shocking diagnosis: an aortic dissection requiring emergency open-heart surgery.

During her recovery, genetic testing revealed Necole had inherited a genetic mutation associated with aortic disease from her mother, who also lived with an aortic aneurysm. What seemed like isolated medical events was actually a clear pattern of inherited risk.

Today, Inherited Hearts Foundation exists to empower individuals and families through education, awareness, and proactive care. By encouraging people to learn their family history, listen to their bodies, and ask critical medical questions, we aim to inspire life-saving action before a crisis occurs.

Know your history.Know your risk.Protect your future.
